WILLIAM SHERLOCK WAS MY GRANDFATHERS BROTHER
MARY CHRISTINE BROWN SHERLOCK William Wright Sherlock son of Henry Adolphus Sherlock was born in Prince Edward Island. The family moved to Port Arthur ( Thunder Bay ) Ontario on the shores of Lake Superior in 1886. His brothers were Hugh Edward Sherlock James MacArther Sherlock Ernest Stanley Sherlock Henry Melbourne Sherlock Herman Lester Sherlock sister- Margaret Mae Sherlock William Wright Sherlock , his wife Mary Christine Brown , also from Port Arthur , Ontario and family lived in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario when he was a light keeper on Michipicoten Island. William Wright Sherlock went missing and presumed drowned trying to get home after the closing of shipping season , December 1918. Mrs Mary Christine Brown Sherlock took over the light in the spring of 1919 .
